Carey Smith

Chief Executive

Becoming involved in the real estate industry at the age of 17, Carey’s real estate career has predominantly been with the Ray White Group as a salesperson, franchise owner, development manager and since 1998 as the Chief Executive of New Zealand operations. His corporate career started in Sydney with Ray White in late 1989 as a development manager and auctioneer. In 1994, after running a business for two years, he became involved with the Western Australian operations of Ray White to amalgamate and merge Mair & Co and Peet & Co into the brand of Ray White. In 1996, Carey came to New Zealand on behalf of Ray White when the company traded through NZ with 58 offices as United Realty. In late 1998 he took leadership of the operation with the conversion through to Ray White United and subsequently Ray White Real Estate. Carey has a specialised understanding of family business and succession and has studied at Harvard Business School completing the OPM course and graduating in 2018.

Gavin Croft

Chief Operating Officer

Gavin Croft has almost 20 years experience in the real estate industry as a salesperson, auctioneer, business owner and state manager for some of Australasia's leading brands. Throughout his career, he has overseen more than 15,000 property transactions but he has a keen strategic interest in bettering the consumer experience. His devotion to his craft has seen him win both awards and admiration of his peers across all levels. His deep industry knowledge and insights into the sophisticated New Zealand property markets are second to none. He’s won multiple auctioneer of the year awards and finalist honours at the Australasian auctioneering championships which cements Mr Croft as a highly sought after auctioneer across Australia and New Zealand. His auction clearance is among the highest in the industry - an 80 per cent clearance rate from the 1027 auctions he called last year. He is passionate about customer service and developing leaders in the areas of the group. Gavin will focus on the network’s growth, recruitment, auctions, market share and lead generation.

Stephanie Watson

Head of Franchise Operations

Stephanie joined the Ray White Corporate team in 2007. Her extensive corporate experience assists in the development of formal relationships between corporate staff in New Zealand and Australia, New Zealand franchises, our clients, and financial members. Stephanie oversees all internal and external franchise liaison - including maintaining legal documentation for new and existing franchisees, the onboarding process for new offices, the implementation and maintenance of our awards tracking system, and financial reporting and New Zealand network performance statistics.

Treena Drinnan

Head of Network Services

With over 24 years experience in management, marketing, administration, and franchising of real estate it is fair to say Treena found her calling at an early age, and people and property remain her passion today. A licensed agent in her own right Treena has held senior management roles for various Australasian real estate franchises throughout her extensive career. Bringing a vast array of real estate knowledge and expertise Treena joins the Ray White corporate team as Head of Network Services and will assist the network with compliance, complaints, customer satisfaction, recruitment and market analytics to name a few.

Jane Meyer

Regional Manager

Jane is Christchurch based and has been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years as a Licensee Agent, Sales Manager, Operations Manager managing the East Side division of Harcourts Gold Real Estate. Jane was awarded the REINZ manager of the year for 2015. Jane was from 2008 to the Skills Organisation as a marker of real estate agents’ certification papers and currently is an Industry Advisory Group member for the REAA. Jane's career is one that has seen her build up substantive relationships and is known for her high-quality delivery of outcomes for both salespeople and clients. She has, over time, built up a reputation of being able to manage a significant number of salespeople and an ever-increasing portfolio of successful sales across the East Side of Christchurch. Jane understands the dynamics of real estate business management and enhancing levels of business attraction. Her skills around listing and selling property will be invaluable. Her knowledge base is broad, covering the events in Christchurch first-hand; in particular the ‘As Is’ category of housing, coupling this with her understanding of client relationships and knowledge of the Act. Jane is looking forward to adding to the business mentoring, financial performance and also aligning with the growth in the area of market share and importantly customer satisfaction.

John Bowring

Ray White Chief Auctioneer

John has been in the Real Estate industry for almost 18 years – starting in residential sales before moving into auctioneering, where he has specialised for the last nine years. With well over 4,000 auction calls to his credit, John’s undoubted strengths are his calling and negotiating skills. John was the National Auctioneer for Colliers International for more than six years before starting his own auctioneering business. John has now joined Ray White in New Zealand as their Head Auctioneer. John has been involved with Ray White for some time calling auctions on the live TV auction of The Block NZ and independently calling in excess of 450 auctions this year for the Group. John’s professionalism and desire to improve means he is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading auctioneers. He is a regular competitor in the REINZ Auctioneering Championships; featuring as a finalist in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2018. John also represented New Zealand in the Australasian Auctioneers competition, where he was a finalist in both 2015 and 2018. John is regularly asked to conduct some of the most high profile charity auctions in the country and has raised millions of dollars for charity in doing so.

Keith Ashkettle

Head of Technology

With strong project and change management control, Keith has 15 years experience looking after the technology and systems for Ray White New Zealand. Responsible for the implementation of new technologies to the Group Keith not only looks after new office website and technology setup but also mobilisation and business technology solutions in an online space to drive traffic and engagement through digital marketing channels. An integral part of the management team, Keith provides strategic direction and is involved in all aspects of digital marketing and online presentation from customer relationship management to print delivery - whilst leading digital implementation and development for our Group.

Larissa Tuhaka

Head of Marketing

Larissa brings a depth of skills to the Group with a passion for brand identity, relationship management and problem-solving. Larissa manages the roll-out of international marketing initiatives to Ray White New Zealand and focuses on keeping the company's visual identity prominent and consistent by ensuring all marketing tools are relevant and available. Larissa also manages many internal communications to our group, national marketing initiatives and long-standing relationships between various print and media partners and suppliers. Larissa brings a competitive edge, current New Zealand representative for Track & Field, with the drive and willingness to go the extra mile and challenge the status quo, bringing the Group the best results.

Zac Snelling

Head of Property Management

Zac began his career with Ray White in 2007 as a Property Manager and has since acquired had a wide range of experience in the industry through different roles within the Ray White group, eventually leaving to start his own independent Property Management company. This experience has given Zac a large skill set and a true passion for the industry which he brings into his role heading up the New Zealand Property Management division. Zac sees his role as a way to support and develop the businesses within our network to achieve their goals through rent roll growth, improved profitability and ongoing skills improvement through the delivery of increased learning and development opportunities for our Ray White Property Managers.

Hanna Kelly

Digital Performance Manager

Hanna has worked for numerous offices in the Ray White Group since 2011. She has a proven reputation with a consistent history in operations, database management, business development and driving efficiency improvements to office systems, workflows and processes. Seeing the opportunity for growth within the company, Hanna has taken on the role at Ray White Corporate as Digital Performance Manager. Her role includes on-boarding new offices and staff, support and training on the Ray White One System and digital platforms and contributing to the business development throughout New Zealand. She will work closely alongside Keith Ashkettle as well as the Australian team of BDE’s and heads of technology divisions. As a team, we are able to generate ideas, further develop current products, introduce new platforms, and most importantly remain at the forefront of technological advancement in the Real Estate world.

Ben East

Training Manager / Auctioneer

One of New Zealand’s most dynamic young auctioneers, Ben East forged a reputation for impressive results early in his career. Bringing professionalism, energy and a genuine presence to every auction. Ben is dedicated to getting the best price possible for his clients. With a passion for real estate and authentic drive, these values cement Ben’s foundation of his success to date, and what sets him apart. He has the ability to quickly connect with people and is a firm believer in building strong relationships and stays involved throughout the entire marketing campaign, offering valuable tips and insights along the way. Passionate about giving back to the community, Ben has also conducted a number of charity auctions for Ray White New Zealand offices.

Andy Ebbett

Senior Manager, Accounting Solutions

Andy is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ) and has joined Ray White after 10 years working in public practice for various accounting firms, predominantly working with small to medium sized businesses. Before this he spent 10 years in Spain running his own business so he understands the challenges faced by business owners in their day to day operations. Andy loves the challenge of enhancing the financial performance of the Ray White network and is looking forward to partnering with business owners, helping them to interpret their numbers and identifying the key drivers that will impact on their financial and personal success.

Tarryn Van Dyk

Member Services Coordinator

Tarryn works closely with the leadership team, providing organisational support. With over 9 years of organisational support in corporate environments, Tarryn brings a depth of knowledge and skill where she manages the recognition program, mentoring programs and travel for corporate members ensuring all aspects are executed strategically. Tarryn also manages events and training while assisting with the daily operations at the corporate office. She is a self-motivated learner who carries out each task with a great deal of professionalism. Tarryn continuously looks for ways to improve efficiency and has a passion for building lasting business relationships.

Sylvia Fawley

Account Manager

Sylvia is the Account Manager for all New Zealand-based members and takes care of the financials for our group. Sylvia's responsibilities encompass processing of the accounts, banking and payments, end of month processes and assistance with financial reporting. Sylvia has been with Ray White Corporate NZ for 10 years and her knowledge of accounts has been invaluable to the Team.
