In February 2017, the owners of The Red Barn Bakery and Cafe purchased this industrial lunch bar which is located on the corner of McAlister and Pohutu Streets in town, but it is time for them to reduce their workload. this lunch bar has had a number of owners who each had their own take on the food for sale. With the current owners it had become the town outlet for the Red Barn Bakery's product. All the bread, rolls, pies, small cakes and savouries are supplied by the bakery which has made it a favourite in the area. An expresso coffee machine has been added which is a break from the normal fare of a lunch bar and is proving to be very popular. The Red Barn Bakery would be happy to remain the supplier of goods should the purchaser wish to continue in the same vane. The lunch bar has 2 kitchens, 1 being the main kitchen with the other (located to the side of the sales counter) which has a grill and clean down facilities. There is a walk-in chiller which allows for ease of prep for the next working day. Generally the food is cabinet style.
