Ray White auctions continue to see more buyer activity with an average of 2.8 registered bidders and 2.1 active bidders last week.

“The growing confidence among the public, alongside rising inventory levels, has sparked significant momentum for Ray White’s auctions,” Ray White New Zealand head auctioneer Sam Steele said.

“In the past week, Ray White hosted 181 scheduled auctions across New Zealand, achieving a clearance rate of 51.5 per cent. This success highlights both the increasing availability of properties and the abundant opportunities for buyers.

“Buyer participation has also strengthened, with an average of 2.8 registered bidders per auction.

“Selecting the right sales method remains crucial, and auctions continue to lead as the gold standard for success. With buyer sentiment shifting and many perceiving that the ‘buyer’s market’ is nearing its end, more are acting decisively to secure properties.

“The transparency and competitive nature of auctions are becoming ever more valued, contributing to stronger outcomes and boosting consumer confidence.

“Ray White New Zealand’s steadfast commitment to the auction process underscores our leadership in the market, driving both engagement and trust as we navigate through the traditional market cycle.”

The top result for the week went to Ray White Epsom agents Allen Sun and Sean McCraig-Megson who sold 3 Ranfurly Road, Epsom, Auckland City, under the hammer for $4.15 million with three registered bidders and three active bidders.

“The buyers were a family whose children go to the school nearby,” Mr Sun said.

“The sellers had lived there for 15 years. They loved the location but now their kids have grown up and moved out so they were downsizing.

“It was a very classic home and they kept a lot of the original character. The location is one of the best in the area. It’s elevated as well, so you can see One Tree Hill from the living room and master bedroom.”

The auction with the highest number of registered bidders went to Ray White Burnside agent Debbie Yu who recorded 16 registered bidders and four active bidders at her 12 Newbridge Place, Ilam, Christchurch City auction. The property sold under the hammer for $799,500.
