It’s a bittersweet move for Heloise Fossi and her husband Simone Naddi, who have placed their Te Atatū Peninsula oasis on the market ahead of their upcoming relocation back to Italy.
Located at 104 Wharf Road, the couple have lovingly transformed the classic Peninsula bungalow over the past 15 years, blending Mediterranean flair with Kiwi character and a deeply personal sense of style.
Their home tells the story of where they've been, where they're going, and the family they raised along the way.
While Simone hails from Italy, Heloise was born in New Zealand to a French mother and spent much of her childhood in Italy. When their daughters were young, the couple made the decision to move to New Zealand to be closer to Heloise’s family.
“We’ve been in New Zealand since about 2009, and a year after that we bought this home. We were only the second family to own it,” Heloise said.
“We love it. We would have stayed much longer if we weren’t moving back to Italy.”
The home became the heart of their family life, where they raised their two daughters. One is now an artist working in restoration in Italy, a journey that inspired the family’s decision to reunite and move back together, including their eldest daughter who will also join them abroad.
Heloise and Simone undertook extensive updates to the home while honouring its original charm. They extended two of the bedrooms and added a fully functioning outdoor kitchen, a space that’s become the soul of the property.
“We have a fire pit where we can cook steaks, a pizza oven for pizzas and roasted vegetables, and even a cooktop for pasta,” Heloise said.
Yet behind every great renovation project is someone quietly keeping it all together, and in this case, it’s their daughter Jasmine.
“She’s been the real boss,” Heloise said.
“While we were busy with all the renovations and decisions, she was the one really running the house and keeping an eye on all of us. Our true MVP.”
There’s so much to love here, Heloise said, from the warmth of the interiors to the productive vegetable gardens and peaceful backyard haven.
“It’s like a cocoon, surrounded by big trees and native birds. You can close the gate and be in your own world. The fruit trees, the veggie patch, picking produce and cooking it outside, it’s been magic.”
Simone’s success as a professional football goalkeeping coach and Heloise’s interior design background both shine through in the home’s detail and personality.
“I loved all the colours we chose and the feeling that each brings to the space,” Heloise said.
“We’ve had a lot of our daughter’s artworks on the walls, alongside other pieces we’ve collected over the years. The colours and the art just speak to each other.”
Ray White Te Atatū Peninsula’s top performing sales executives Crystal McKeown and John Vujnovich said they were proud to be entrusted with presenting this one-of-a-kind home to the market.
“104 Wharf Road is full of soul,” Crystal said.
“The moment you walk in, you feel it. From Heloise’s impeccable eye for interior design to Simone’s skilled handiwork, and Jasmine keeping everyone in line, every corner of this home reflects care, creativity and Mediterranean warmth.”
John said buyers would be drawn to the vibrant colour palette, curated textures and the rare blend of character and modern function. With generous bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a freestanding garage on a full site, this is a true standout.
“All of this is just a short stroll from Peninsula Primary and waterside walkways,” John said.
“It’s the kind of property that local upgraders dream about, something that stands out but still feels like home.”
