Good property advice starts with understanding people.

I came to New Zealand from China in 2001, with a lot to learn and a future to build. Like many people who make New Zealand home, I worked hard to find my feet, build a career and create a life for my family.

Christchurch became home. It’s where my wife, Amy, and I have raised our two boys, Henry and Corey, and where I’ve spent more than 16 years building my career in real estate.

Since joining Ray White in 2010, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life — first-home buyers taking a big step, families moving into their next chapter, investors making important decisions, and homeowners preparing to sell something they’ve worked hard for.

Every property is different, and every person has their own story. I believe the best results come from listening carefully, being straight with people and doing the hard work behind the scenes. Sometimes that means negotiating firmly. Sometimes it means giving honest advice, even when it isn’t what someone hoped to hear. Either way, my clients deserve to know that I’m working in their best interests.

My background has also taken me beyond the day-to-day work of selling property. As a business owner and director, I understand that building a successful business is about more than numbers. It’s about trust, relationships, good people and doing what you say you’ll do. I bring that same mindset to my clients and the people I work alongside.

Being fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese allows me to connect with people across different cultures and help make what can be a stressful process feel clearer and more manageable.

Outside work, you’ll often find me swimming, playing soccer, skiing or fishing — a good reminder that the best things in life are built with patience, consistency and a bit of persistence.

For me, real estate has never been just about selling houses. It’s about helping people make good decisions, protecting what matters to them and being someone they feel comfortable picking up the phone to call.
