David’s real estate career began in 1998 with a high profile Real Estate Company in Hawke's Bay and he immediately made an impact becoming Rookie of the year and Top 10 in the company, a position he held most years and he quickly developed an excellent reputation for honesty and getting results.

Most of his working experience has been involved with customer service, predominantly in the retail sector. During the previous 13 years David, along with his wife Margaret, operated his own businesses firstly, in the Antiques and Collectables trade, and then Country Touch, selling special gifts and home décor, prior to selling up for an extended trip to England. 

David also has extensive experience in Commercial and Business sales being the No 1 Commercial Broker for approximately 16 years. Following his passion for antique auctions, in 2000 David graduated from an Auctioneer’s course in Auckland tutored by one of New Zealand’s top Auctioneers, Mark Sumich and has conducted over 100 auctions.

David has been involved in management and business ownership since 2002 and has managed Residential, Rural, Commercial and Property Management teams. In 2006 he attained his AREINZ qualification and was immediately appointed the Principal Officer for the company. During 2007 David was elected to the REINZ Hawke’s Bay Committee. 

David was also involved with the Napier Jaycee for six years being President and Regional Trainer before being bestowed as a Life Member.
