Sellers Mike and Danielle, were very happy with the result of their auction at 106A East Coast Road, Forrest Hill, marketed by Ray White Milford agents Ella Bason and Shane Coote.
The property, which Mike bought with his parents in 2003, sold under the hammer for $1.5 million with five registered and active bidders.
“I came down in 2003 from Canada to do some post graduate study. My parents, who were originally Kiwis, were looking to semi-retire,” Mike said.
“The three of us decided to purchase something for me to live in while I studied and for them to semi-retire into where they could spend their time between New Zealand and Canada.
“Danielle and I moved to Tauranga and started our business and my parents were in the house until a couple of years ago when they weren’t able to travel over as often. It was tenanted for a couple of years, but ultimately we decided it was time to sell.
“We really enjoyed the time we spent there.”
Mike and Danielle said this was their first time selling via auction, and they were happy with the result.
“Shane and Ella were very good at explaining how the market had changed and, given the market now, we were very happy with the result,” Mike said.
“I took their advice about going to auction. Shane said for a property like this there will be people who really love it, and those sorts of properties do well in an auction.
“Shane and Ella were amazing. Ella really went about and beyond. She was amazing with communication and organisation. Shane gave us good sound advice regarding the auction process and how it worked.”
