Ms Whyte said the decision to sell had not come easily, but reflected a new chapter.
“We’re downsizing and hoping to travel, but we leave with a really heavy heart,” she said.
“Tata Beach is old New Zealand. The people are open and friendly, there’s nothing slick about it. It’s a caring community and a stunning place. We’ll still come back for holidays.”
Ray White Golden Bay listing agent Billy Kerrisk said opportunities to purchase original baches in Tata Beach were increasingly rare.
