The weather was hot but the auctions were even hotter in Auckland yesterday, with Ray White New Zealand selling more than $56 million in property under the hammer across two massive auction events.
The group held two massive auction events yesterday, The Day auction event in South Auckland, and The Event on the North Shore.
Ray White New Zealand lead auctioneer Sam Steele, who called The Day auctions alongside Ray White auctioneer Ben East (pictured above), said the events were a testament to the group’s strength as a leading auction business.
“Yesterday represented a milestone event for Ray White Zealand with 109 properties auctioned across two venues,” Mr Steele said.
“This was an extraordinary feat given it’s only January, and it puts us in very good stead for the rest of 2024.
“Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere, and Mangere Bridge’s January auction event further enhanced their position as the market leaders in auctions.
“There were more than 50 auctions called over 10 hours, which saw 33 properties sold.
“Incredibly the South Auckland event delivered over 300 registered bidders with more than 90 per cent of properties enjoying active bidding.”
The Day saw 51 properties go under the hammer from Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere, and Mangere Bridge, with an impressive 64 per cent of properties sold under the hammer – worth more than $29 million in total.
The top auction of The Day went to Ray White Manukau agents Jay Singh and Jess Carlin who sold 357 West Road, Brookby under the hammer for $1.88 million. The property attracted eight registered bidders.
The auction with the highest number of registered bidders was for 25 Alexander Ave, Papatoetoe which attracted 14 registered bidders. The property sold under the hammer for $1.2 million, a great result for the vendor and Ray White Manukau marketing agents David Ma and Amy Nguyen.
Another fantastic result went to 34 Cockburn Street, Grey Lynn, marketed by Ray White Manurewa agent Josh Anderson. Despite needing a lot of TLC, the property attracted eight registered bidders, and achieved the highest number of bids at The Day, with six bidders fighting it out for a total of 65 bids. The property sold under the hammer for $1.351 million.
