Ray White auctions saw an average of 2.4 registered bidders and 1.9 active bidders per auction.

The top result for the week went to Ray White Howick agents Mohe Abdo and Gina Gao who sold 8 Oceania Place, Mellons Bay, Manukau City, under the hammer for $3.4 million. With Ray White New Zealand auctioneer on the gavel, the property recorded seven registered bidders and four active bidders.

“The street is quite an exclusive street. The design and architecture is really top quality, and it’s a single level home,” Mr Abdo said.

“Most of our interest was from professional couples and downsizers but the winning bid went to a young family.

“The sellers had lived there for seven years but were relocating back to central Auckland.”

The auction with the highest number of registered bidders was at Ray White Manukau agents Dushen Mallimaratchi and Sanjay Karan’s 28 Pecan Place, Avondale, Auckland City, auction which recorded 35 registered bidders and 19 active bidders. Ray White New Zealand head auctioneer Sam Steele called the auction with the property selling under the hammer for $763,000.

“It was a $1 reserve auction which attracted a lot of interest. There was a mix of investors, and first home buyers bidding,” Mr Mallimaratchi said.

“The under bidder was a first home buyer but the winning bidder went to an investor.

“The owners were investors who live out of town and they were really motivated to sell. They were really ready to listen to the market and trusted the auction process.”
