Auctions continue to outshine other methods of sale
Ray White New Zealand scheduled 108 auctions last week, recording an all sold clearance rate of 59.5 per cent, up 11.1 per cent on the same time last year.
The top auction sale of the week went to Ray White Mt Albert principal Anne Duncan who sold 8 Bennett Street, Mt Albert, Auckland City, under the hammer for $2.421 million.
The auction with the highest number of registered bidders went to Ray White Mangere agent Bob Lemalu who sold 444 Roscommon Road, Clendon Park, Manukau City under the hammer for $736,000 with 12 registered bidders and 10 active bidders.
The seller was a homeowner who had owned it for 40 years and was retiring and moving to be with family. The winning bid went to an investor.
“The majority were investors but we had one home buyer as well,” Mr Lemalu said.
“It was a do-up property for now, but it also had a good land size with services on site. The location was also really good, so there was lots of potential to develop in the future.
“The market has been really active. Clendon is always moving, it’s always a popular area.”
Mr Lemalu’s auction was part of Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge’s weekly in-room auction event, where eight properties went under the hammer with a 75 per cent clearance rate.
The auction with the top sale price from the in-room event was 161 Princes Street West, Pukekohe which sold under the hammer for $860,000 – a great result for the vendor and Ray White Manukau marketing agent David Ma.
