With 37 properties up for auction, the group saw an incredible 73 per cent clearance rate after a total of 838 bids.

“Auction day is where intent turns into action - The Day proves just how strong the market can be when buyers and sellers meet face-to-face,” Ray White A T Realty CEO Adam Thomson said

Some of the most hotly contested auctions were the three $1 reserve properties that were sent under the hammer at 21 Rushgreen Avenue, Pahurehure, 31 Tims Crescent, Flat Bush and 1/1 Favona Road, Favona.

Ray White Manukau agents Charlie Brothers and Liam Brothers recorded a whopping 26 registered bidders for their 31 Tims Crescent, Flat Bush, auction, which sold under the hammer for $1,336,000

The property was sold to Ray White Manukau agent Sumesh Prakash’s buyers, who had missed out at another auction earlier in the day.

“Watching my buyers lose out at auction was heartbreaking; they were crushed. But I had a feeling another property coming up later that day was the one,” he said.

“We squeezed in a viewing during the lunch break, and the moment they stepped inside, their faces lit up. They said, ‘This is it.’ They said let’s get registered then and there.

“We went back to the office and ended up winning their dream family home. It was such a beautiful, full-circle moment; they truly felt it was meant to be.”

Charlie Brothers and Liam Brothers were also the marketing agents for the $1 reserve auction at 21 Rushgreen Avenue, Pahurehure, which sold under the hammer for $925,000 with 19 registered bidders.

The seller, Angeline O’Meara, said she was a bit nervous about going to auction with a $1 reserve, but trusted her agents’ advice.

“Both Charlie and Liam had prepared us for what to expect - what the environment would be like, how it would look, and how they’d make sure we were well-informed,” Ms O’Meara said.

“The terminology they used isn’t something we use every day, so we had to really trust them that they had us covered.

“Oh my gosh, it was very hyped - it honestly felt like we were at the races! Everyone was on the go the whole time; the energy was high and the vibes were great.

“It was scary, but right from the beginning, we trusted Charlie and Liam. We could tell from our early interactions with them that they’d look after us through the whole process.

“Their communication was really clear, there was no hidden agenda, and that gave us huge reassurance.

“So yes, the $1 reserve was scary, but it was a great outcome in the end.”

The top result for the day went to marketing agents Ajmer Singh and Rojan Bhattarai who sold 345 Mill Road, Ardmore, under the hammer for $2.025 million.

The auction with the most bids was for Fatima Ali and Ria Agulto’s auction at 11 Mitchell Street, Blockhouse Bay, which saw a whopping 90 bids over 13 minutes.

With 8 registered bidders, bidding started at $1 million before eventually selling under the hammer for $1.225 million.

Ray White A T Realty director Tom Rawson said the 11th instalment of The Day was a huge success

“There’s a reason we back auctions,” he said.

“When buyers are in the room, things happen - one missed out in the morning and bought that afternoon.

“That’s what The Day is all about: momentum and opportunity.”
