October auctions ramp up
Auction volumes are on the rise as spring ramps up ahead of the election this week. Ray White New Zealand scheduled 174 auctions during the first week of October, up 55.4 per cent year-on-year.
The auction with the highest number of bidders was for Ray White Mairangi Bay agent Drew Miller’s property at 1/519 Beach Road, Murrays Bay, which attracted 16 registered bidders and 10 active bidders (auction pictured above).
Ray White New Zealand auctioneer Ben East called the auction, with the three-bedroom home selling under the hammer for $1.5 million.
The winning bid went to a local buyer whose parents were at the auction bidding on his behalf.
“I built up a strong level of trust with the seller who then let me run the campaign how I felt was best which then achieved a great result on the day,” Mr Miller said.
“We had 156 groups inspect the property throughout the campaign, and 10 active bidders on the day.
“It was four doors down from the beach which was the main drawcard for the property.”
